3 days Ssese Islands
On Lake Victoria’s northwestern corner are the 84 Ssese archipelago islands, most of them are very beautiful. You may take a boat ride from Kasenyi to many of these Islands, however tourist facilities are offered particularly on the islands of Banda, Bugala and Bukasa.
In about 1.5 hours, you can take a boat cruise to Ssese Islands. with the new MV Brovad.
The other boat ride to Bugala (MV Kalangala) which is the main administrative island at Ssese via Bukakata 3 hours drive from Kampala is very adventurous. You will board the ferry (together with your vehicle) and then drive to Kalangala where you will find a variety of accommodation facilities including budget bandas, mid-range lodge and then the luxury facilities.
Ssese Islands is ideal for those on a holiday just to rest, read some books, or relax by the beach. Actually the main tourist activity here is taking peaceful walks. For those interested in birding, this islands hosts a great diversity of brightly colored birds among which the Paradise Flycatcher and Turacos are common. Day 1 – The Ssese Islands of Lake Victoria
At around 11.00 am you will set off to Entebbe and there you will board a ferry to Ssese Islands which is an archipelago comprising of 84 islands on the large Lake Victoria. This Ferry leaves the Entebbe pier at exactly 2:00 pm; as you wait for its departure you may choose to visit the beautiful Entebbe botanical garden. Following your lunch you will set off on the ferry to explore this large peaceful lake and later arrive at Lutoboka bay found in Bugala Island. Dine and slumber at Peral Gardens Hotel which is strategically located right on the beach. (Full Board)
Day 2 – Ecological Nature walk
After an Early breakfast you will set out for a leisure ecological nature walk within the pristine forest on these islands and our guide who detail you with all the relevant information about the forest on this walk. You will return to your hotel for lunch and at your leisure spend the remainder of the day. Enjoy an optional boat cruise in the evening and later dine at your hotel.
Day 3 – Kampala
Right After your breakfast, you will head back to Entebbe using the ferry.
This ferry leaves Bugala at 8.00am and arrives at Entebbe by 11.00am.
