The Crow’s Nest is magnificently located at 2,000m on Mount Elgon’s slopes. The place offers breathtaking views of 3 waterfalls – the Sipi falls, the distant plains and the peaks of Mountain Elgon. The camp is found approximately one hour north of the town of Mbale, which is roughly 100km northwest of the town of Jinja. This remarkable camp provides little luxuries for volunteers yet it is a very unique place. The terraced camp is made up of a number of huge dome tents that accommodate three people each plus two dormitories. Each tent is well ventilated with an inbuilt fly screen to maintain it cooler throughout the day and make certain that it is insect-free; you make sure to keep your tents zip closed! Private sleeping units have a high-density mattress, blankets, sheets and a pillow.
Kitchen and Dining: the Kitchen is headed by chefs who prepare daily menu of 3 healthy well-balanced meals each day, all composed of fresh produce where need be.
