3 day Ngamba Island tour
This 3 day Ngamba Island Chimpanzee safari starts and finish in Entebbe main land. The Ngamba Island safari will take you through Mukona district by a boat cruise. Ngamba Island is 23km from the Lake Victoria shores in Entebbe. The Ngamba Island Sanctuary is home to a lovely forest which is habitat to about 41 rescued chimpanzees. This semi-wild island allows you to closely encounter the chimps particularly when you participate in the care giving experience or in the chimpanzee forest walk. These walks enables you to observe the day to day lifestyle of chimps in the forest as you observe them feed, take care of each other and even play.
Ngamba safari Itinerary
Day 1: Entebbe – Ngamba Island by boat
You’ll be met by your safari guide for a briefing regarding the 3 day Ngamba Island safari. After that you’ll board the boat and leave for Ngamba Island. Should you arrive at the Island earlier you may choose to have a community walk to the various neighboring communities. Have Lunch and after that go chimpanzee tracking. Diner and slumber at Ngamba Island camp.
Day 2: Ngamba Island Forest Walk
After breakfast set out for a thrilling forest walk. Ensure that you provided your medical vaccines. This forest walk is very impressive! Here you’ll have the opportunity to take beautiful pictures with the lively Chimps. Don’t forget you’re on your Adventure safari with creatures which are man’s closest relatives. The most fascinating thing on this safari is when the chimps begin pulling your clothes, hair, climb on you, or even shake your hands and hold you as you move in the forest. You will return for lunch back at your lodging and spend the afternoon at leisure or opt to visit the shores of the lake to look at birds, butterflies and insects. Dine and slumber at Ngamba Island camp.
Day 3: Transfer to the main land.
You will have a great breakfast a head of setting off by boat back to Entebbe main land. The guide will pick you up from Entebbe and take you back to the Airport for your departure flight. Alternative activity in Entebbe is to check out the Uganda wildlife Education center (UWEC) as well as botanical gardens.
