The Tour Overview
Travel to the Nyungwe Forest National Park of Rwanda where you will track the chimpanzees before proceeding to the Kahuzi Biega National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo where you will track the Eastern Lowland Mountain Gorillas. A number of tourists that wish to and or have visited the DRC considered trekking these gorillas; one of the best adventure safari activities. The Tour Highlights
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Day 2: Chimp Trekking & Bukavu Transfer
Day 3: Lowland Gorilla Tracking
Day 4: Departure
Day 1: Transfer to the Nyungwe Forest National Park.
Have breakfast at your hotel early in the morning before getting picked up by your guide who will drive you to the Nyungwe National Park after giving you a brief about the whole tour. This forest is the ultimate destination for seeing and tracking these chimpanzees and the beauty is it also comes with a canopy walk. Have your lunch en route the Nyungwe Forest and check into your hotel on arrival, enjoy your dinner and rest.
Accommodation: The Nyungwe Top Hill Lodge, the Gisakura Guest House and the Nyungwe Forest Lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Bukavu
Travel for an hour after having breakfast as you head for your chimpanzee trek. You have the option of taking different trails so that you can be able to see as many primate troops and enjoying the fresh and spectacular scenery as you can. Only an hour is allocated to you to spend, photograph and see these chimpanzees after they have been spotted. Drive then to the town Bukavu, south of Lake Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Check into your lodge, have dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Kahuzi Biega Lowland Gorilla Tracking
Drive to the Kahuzi Biega National after the morning breakfast and directly head to the briefing point. While here enjoy brief cultural performances of the Congolese dance and after enter the jungle and begin your 2 to 5 hour search or these lowland gorillas. Spend an hour in their presence before returning back to your lodge for an overnight and dinner.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kigali
After having your breakfast proceed to your vehicle and transfer back to Rwanda’s Kigali city where you might opt for a tour of the genocide memorials before being driven to the airport to catch your flight.
